Ready for an eight straight final

Swedish team Brommapojkarna has a rich history in Gothia Cup. So does coach Peter Kisfaludy, who has an impressive streak the last years.

„I’m not sure how many years I’ve been to Gothia Cup, but I know that I have participated in seven straight finals and five straight victories. The tournament is an experience and I’d like to say that no matter the level you play at, as a youth player you should experience this at least once, says Peter Kisfaludy.

On Thursday morning, they entered the B13 play offs against Italian team Rari Nantes Siracusa.

After having commanded the game with few touches, confident quick passing and even a bicycle kick (with no goal as a result), they took the victory on Majvallen with 3-0.

That means they go through, now with 28 goals scored in total, and no goals conceded.

Two time scorer Jardell Kanga commented on the game:

„We had a high ball tempo and played well. We are strong together,“ he says.

Now the team starts to look ahead in the play off schedule.

„This year could be really hard, there are a lot of strong teams. Lizzy Football Club, Vista Alegra, ABB Paris for example. But we should be able to make it, the boys have trained hard for it,“ says Peter Kisfaludy.

Do you have any methods for when it’s tight between the matches in the play offs?

„We have prepared them. They have slept and eaten well, and are drinking a lot of water. We have brought boxes of raisins, nuts, crackers, bananas and blueberry soup. Before the next game, we will eat some pasta.“

„We are going to be fine as long as we eat and drink well, then it doesn’t matter how tight the games are played,“ says Jardell Kanga.
