Only one month after the Gothia Cup week in Gothenburg the Chinese Gothia Cup started in Qingdao. Around 300 teams from 33 countries are having the ultimate football experience in China right now.

The tournaments opening ceremony took place on Sunday, and this week 600 games will be played. You can follow the teams and find everything you need to know at the Gothia Cup China website.

Celebrate the Game raised spirits at this year’s Gothia Cup. A few teams that made particularly outstanding contributions were this year’s Fairplay Trophy winners: Prep School Lions Green, FC Minsk, Sel Quinta Cordillera and JSG KAWU.

The final game of this year’s Gothia Cup was a special one, both for Gothenburg and the two competing teams. The incredibly close game was settled with just one goal separating the teams – an own goal.

It was the reigning champion against the rookie, when Norcal PDP met Tokyo Verdy in the G17 final of Gothia Trophy. The underdogs managed to win by controlling the game from start to finish.

Ghanaian Right to Dream didn’t just dream about a victory – they pulled it off, maybe inspired by the big audience. The win marked their second consecutive Gothia Trophy, and fourth in total.

The club name says AP Top 54 but there is a possibility to change it to AP Top 1 as the Polish side went all the way to the victory in the Boys 15 category. They did it by conceding only one goal in the whole tournament.   

English team Playr Academy came close, but in the end, American team Ryerson SC West came out victorious. ”Heart and passion” was key, according to scorer Marcel Alexis Salceda.

After losing two years in a row, Hammarby IF could finally see themselves as winners, after an exciting penalty shootout.

To the rhythm of a whole drum section, Ghanaian Lizzy brought home the second trophy of this year’s tournament after 4-0 against SKF Bulgaria.
