All you need to know about Gothia Cup 2019
Today marks exactly one month left until the highlight of the summer: Gothia Cup 2019.
1685 teams from 75 nations meet in Gothenburg to participate in the 45th edition of the world’s largest youth tournament, July 14–20.
In exactly one month, around 35000 excited Gothia Cup participants will arrive to Gothenburg and kick off this year’s tournament. Since the start in 1975, teams from 147 nations have taken part and this year Gothia Cup is proud to present Guinea as a new participating nation – the 148th nation through the years.
4346 matches will be played on the 103 different pitches in Gothenburg and the surrounding cities of Mölndal, Kungsbacka and Alingsås.
On Monday evening, 15th of July, the Gothia Opening Ceremony take place in Ullevi Stadium, with a capacity of 51210 people in the audience.
This year all gold medal matches will be played on Saturday 20th of July, in Gamla Ullevi and SKF Arena.
As previous year’s, together with our Main Partner SKF, Gothia Cup offer free live streaming from around 1300 matches. A news for 2019, is that AI cameras will deliver the streams all over the world.
Around 2500 staff members will help to make Gothia Cup an unforgettable experience for all participants. Everything from serving staff, guides, school hosts, drivers and referees, will be available to give our participants a memory of a life time during the week in Gothenburg.

Highlights during the week
Sunday 14th July:
The big arrival day. Gothia Heden Center opens.
Monday 15th July:
First day of group stage matches, kick off time: 8.00 am.
8.00 pm: The Gothia Opening Ceremony at Ullevi Stadium. Around 50000 players, leaders, friends and family members gathers to experience a night full of joy, togetherness and fellowship.
Tuesday 16th July:
7.00 pm: The Gothia Leaders Party at Scandinavium Arena. Leaders and coaches can enjoy a night of good food and entertainment among a couple of thousands other leaders from all over the world.
Wednesday 17th July:
The last day of group stage games. The playoffs begin.
Thursday 18th July:
The playoffs continues.
The finals of Gothia Special Olympics Trophy will be played at Gothia Heden Center.
Friday 19th July:
The playoffs continues.
The winners of Gothia eCup visit Coca-Cola Skills arena at Gothia Heden Center together with the Swedish National esport team.
Saturday 20th July:
The Gothia Cup gold medal matches are played in Gamla Ullevi Stadium and in SKF Arena.
