“Our coaches emphasize on fair play every day”

Two games, two victories, 20 scored goals and zero conceded. Beside the football skills SKF Indonesia has also shown a lot of sportsmanship and fair play. ”Our coaches emphasize on fair play every day”, the team captain Uchida Sudirman says.

The main sponsor of Gothia Cup, SKF, has brought 28 teams in different age groups and categories from all over the world to Gothenburg to participate in the tournament, teams that otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to come. SKF Indonesia competes in the Boys 15 class and has got a great start in the tournament.

Yesterday they won by 18–0 agains Skalborg SK from Denmark and today they kept another clean sheet and scored two goals against the German side Walddörfer SV from Hamburg. Rabani Tasnim Sidiq and Rafly Rafa Zahid scored the goals in todays victory.
“They had a really compact defense so it was a tough game for us”, the team captain Uchida Sudirman says.
He is happy to be in Sweden with his team.
“It is an amazing team, we have som many different kind of players and the coach knows how to combine it for the best possible outcome.”
Uchida is one of few players that has been to Sweden and Gothia cup before. 2016 he played for Topskor and lost the final against the Mexicans side CA Intercups.
”This time I hope we can go all the way and win the title for Indonesia. I know there is one Indonesian team that has won the tournament before so I hope we can be the second.”
Beside all the goals and nice football skills SKF Indonesia has also impressed the spectators with their nice behavior on the pitch. No complaints, a lot of joy and always willing to reach out a hand to help the opponents gen on their feet again.
”This is how we are raised. Our coaches emphasize on fair play every day and teach us how to respect other players, referees and coaches. It is important for us to show fair play,” Uchida says.
 Iskander is the coach of SKF Indonesia and he is impressed but not surprised about the performances so far.
”European teams have bigger and stronger players than we so it is a great opportunity to come here and increase our quality”, he says.
