It is now clear which Swedish teams will play in the G17 class in the Gothia Trophy elite cup. The clubs include FC Rosengård and Umeå IF FF. “It’s going to be a really great mixture this year,” says tournament manager Maja Eklund.
Individual teams are invited to Gothia Trophy to participate based on the certification model used by Elitfotboll Dam (“Elite Football Women”, EFD). In the G17 class, 8 teams are from Sweden and 8 teams are from abroad. They are presented below.

Victoria Sandell is sports manager for Elitfotboll Dam and says this year’s edition will feature many strong teams. “The teams that participate are all excellent at bringing out their own young, skilled players. Many of the clubs also have players represented in national youth teams,” says Victoria.
She thinks it is great that the clubs get to play international matches. “I believe the Swedish teams will be well prepared and are going to give the non-Swedish teams some tough opposition.”
Gothia Cup’s Maja Eklund is new as a manager of the elite tournament and she is full of anticipation for this year’s edition. “It’s going to be really exciting to see how the Swedish and international teams fare against one another. It’s going to be a really great mixture this year, and interesting to see how the game develops throughout the tournament.”
Last year, the American club NorCal PDP won against the Swedish LB07 in the final with 3-0. This year’s Gothia Trophy will take place 15-21 July.
