Team Odense won the girls 15 final after a solid defense and effective attacking football. Fc Djursholm fought well, but couldn’t handle the Danish side who won Gothia Cup for the first time.

Team Odense from Denmark and Fc Djursholm from Stockholm faced each other in the Girls 15 final. The both teams had great support from the stands and the spirit from the crowd was something that the players was catching.
It was an even opening of the game were the teams didn’t find any good scoring opportunities. The defense in both teams showed their skills and proved why they were in the Gothia final.
The best scoring chance in the first half came with one minute remaining, and it was Rebekka Frost Frederiksen who tested the goalkeeper in Djursholm, Isabelle Carlsson. Isabelle couldn’t reach the ball but were lucky to have the cross bar.
The first half ended goalless.
The second half started with a pressure from the Danish side. Rebekka Frost Frederiksen was yet again unlucky with another shot hitting the cross bar. It was an clear advantage for Odense when 15 minutes was left of the game.
With ten minutes left of the game the crowd at Gamla Ullevi would witness the first goal of the game, and it wasn’t a surprise that it was Odense who scored. Emilie Lajrimi got the ball outside the penalty area and used her left foot. The ball got a beautiful curve and 1–0 to the Danish side was a fact.
With good defense could Team Odense secured the win and it was a proud captain who summarized the game after final whistle.
“I’m very happy, we have a good team spirit and a good defense through the whole tournament, says Sasha Munk Larsen.
“We are going to celebrate with a lot of music and a lot of singing”, says Says Sasha.
