All you need to know about Gothia Cup 2017

Only ten days to go until we kick off the 43rd edition of Gothia Cup. A year of preparations comes to an end and we can all look forward to an incredible week in Göteborg.

Sunday 16th of July is the big arrival day for Gothia Cup participants. We will expect around 40 000 participants representing 1 730 teams and 80 different nations. We are glad to present three new Gothia Cup-nations this year: Cambodia, Nepal and Vietnam.
The highlights of the week – besides the 4 300 games that will be played on 102 pitches – are the Gothia Opening Ceremony, the Gothia Leaders Party and Gothia eCup.
Gothia eCup is a new tournament, which this first year is played only by Swedish players, with the aim to go international next year. With Gothia eCup, The World Youth Cup enters the digital arena. The finalists will meet in a big event on Thursday 20th July at Lisebergshallen, competing in EA SPORTS FIFA17.
2017 is also the year when we can offer our livestreaming of 1,300 games for free, making Gothia Cup available even for those who don’t have the possibility to come to Gothenburg.
A total number of 2,400 volunteers will serve our participants and guests throughout the week. Without these engaged volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to arrange Gothia Cup.
