A match from all places in the world
Today is the time for the most international football match at the Heden: “Gothia Cup World Game”!
Gothia Cup wants to change the world through football. To show that it’s possible, the Gothia Cup will launch an exclusive football game today at 13:00 on Heden 4. The idea is that each position (player, leader and referee) will represent different unique nations.
The nations that will attend at the Gothia Cup World Game are: Mozambique, Zambia, Estonia, Nepal, Vietnam, Russia, Lithuania, Brazil, Austria, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Australia, Spain, Bulgaria, Mexico, Portugal, Canada, Argentina , USA, China, Czech Republic, Norway, Turkey, Malta and Poland.
Through the Gothia Cup World Game we want to show that we can change the world through football. That boys and girls from countries around the world – regardless of color, religion, culture or ethnicity – can meet on the same football field.
Gathering participants to a common football match where all continents, all 26 nations, are represented during the Gothia Cup week, symbolize the work the Gothia Cup Foundation performs all year round. A perfect opportunity to show together that the football is a tool for creating understanding, knowledge and togetherness – here at the Gothia Cup and out in the world.
The match will be played today at 13.00, on Heden 4 in the form 2×20 minutes. After the match, a diploma is shared to all participants, hopefully for the stands filled with representatives of even more nations.
