Tölö IF, from Kungsbacka, will be the Swedish representative in the big nations parade at the Gothia Opening Ceremony 2017.
“We really look forward to this. The first reaction from the boys was ‘Wow, is it really true?’, Stefan Ryberg said, who is the coach for the clubs B14 team.
In addition to the B14 category, Tölö IF will participate in Gothia Cup 2017 with teams in G16, G15 and B15, and all four teams will be the Swedish contribution to the nations parade at the Gothia Opening Ceremony.
“It is the first time my team (B14) will participate and the guys are excited to be a part of this international event. We have been talking a lot about Gothia Cup the previous days since the groups were released. It’s a big bonus for us to be chosen to represent Sweden in the parade. I don’t think the guys can imagine how many people it will be at the opening ceremony, watching them from the stands”, says Stefan Ryberg.
Teams from 82 different countries will participate in Gothia Cup 2017, which means that Tölö IF is one of 82 different clubs that’s going to represent their home country in the parade.
“The guys will be chocked when they enter the field. I believe some of the guys have been to a music concert before at the Ullevi stadium, but nothing like this. We look forward to the tournament as much as the opening ceremony”, says Stefan Ryberg.
