All twelve Swedish teams in this summer’s Gothia Tipselit Trophy are now ready. The specially invited teams are Malmö FF, AIK, IFK Norrköping, IFK Göteborg, IF Elfsborg, Kalmar FF, Djurgårdens IF, Örebro SK, Hammarby IF, Jönkoping S, Helsingborgs IF and BK Häcken.
Gothia Tipselit Trophy is a tournament for 17-year-old talented teams as part of the Gothia Cup, and is perhaps the most prestigious trophy to win this week in Gothenburg. 24 teams are to participate, all specially invited. 12 from Sweden and 12 from other countries. The teams are divided into six groups where the group winners and the runners-up proceeds to the A finals.
All the invited teams from Sweden are ready, the foreign teams will be presented at a later date.
– The international experience is unbeatable. It raises the 17-year-olds enormously. They may spread their wings against the other teams. For many players it is a new experience to play in front of so many spectators. It is one of the advantages of the collaboration with Gothia Cup, says Stefan Lundin, Sports Director of the Swedish Elite Football.
This year’s Gothia Cup Tipselit Trophy takes place between July 16 and 22. Last year Helsingborgs IF defeated IF Elfsborg in the final.
