What’s the difference to stay in the central parts of Gothenburg compare to outside the city?
The schools in the city centre are significantly fewer than outside the city center, therefore we can’t offer everyone accommodation in the central parts of Gothenburg. If you live in the centre you will be close to Heden, Avenyn and Liseberg, but you have longer trips to the games since there are only a few playing fields in the centre. It is very common to play games at for example Kviberg or in Kungsbacka. If you live outside the centre you will be closer to the fields and the surroundings are often quieter.
We want to stay in a specific school, is that possible?
Write your request on your registration and we will try our best to accommodate as many requests as possible! Though, we can never guarantee your preferences.

How will the age be controlled?
Each team must submit a list of players to the Gothia Cup administration before its first game in the tournament. All players MUST be able to identify themselves and to certify their age with a valid passport. For players from countries where a passport id is not required for travel to Sweden the least requirement is to present an attested picture identification. This will be taken care of as follows:

At this time each player on the list must be present and show proof of identity and age. This should be done before Monday 3 pm. Single players can join at a later time, provided that they are listed on the first given participant list and that the player shows valid proof of id at the Central Information, Heden before he/she plays his/her first game.
How many games will we play?
You will play 3 or 4 games in the first round, depending on if your group has 4 or 5 teams. All play off games will be decided by the cup system, i.e. by direct elimination.

Most districts allow players under 15 years old to switch club once a year. It is possible to change club for not licensed players at the half turn of the year. You then have to sign a paper between the clubs. Be attentive that the player will belong to the club he/she played for at the Gothia Cup even during the coming fall season. The player can not go back to the mother club as easy. For licensed players (15 years old and older) the usual rules of transition applies. The player has to be licensed at the football association in respectively country for playing in the Gothia Cup.
Which rules of dispensation do you apply?
In the 11-a-side categories, dispensations will automatically be given to two players per squad who are maximum one year over aged. Note that you can not use more over aged players by switching them between matches.

Dispensation can be applied for, for a maximum of ONE player who already has an dispensation issued by its district associations, or where there are special reasons. Dispensation for over aged players must be applied for no later than July 1st 2017. After this date, no applications for dispensations will be accepted.
Girls may play in boys classes as long as the regulations for age categories are followed.
