Leaders Party

What would Gothia Cup be without all our fantastic leaders that give so much of their time to their young people. Gothia Leader’s Party should be a reward for all that hard work. Enjoy a colorful evening of wining, dining and entertainment among a couple of thousands other leaders from all over the world.

During the first couple of years this event took place in a hall at Liseberg – Rondo. It certainly wasn’t much of a leaders party. There was food and beverage but the entertainment consisted of dull speeches and to that information about the upcoming week.

It wasn’t really until the end of the 80s that it became a real party event. The youth had their disco. Of course the leaders, that put so much effort in coming with the team to the Gothia Cup, should be offered something at least as good. During many years Fiskhamnen (the fish port) in Gothenburg was the meeting place. Seat- ed on shrimp boxes the guests were offered seafood and music. The arrangement was much appreciated but soon the capacity in Fiskhamnen was no longer enough.

After that the party moved every year to new places. The aim was to show as much as possible of the city. Eriksbergshallen, Marstrands Fästning, Frölundaborg and Älvsborgs Fästning are some of the places that have been visited. 

From 1999 until today the big indoor arena – Scandinavium – is the given place for the Gothia Lead- ers Party. Here is enough space on the floor to seat 3800 guests. Well, at least close enough. Latecomers sometimes have to sit on the stands.

A leaders party consists of good food and entertainment. And there is usually a good atmosphere. Later in the evening most of the guests are standing up and singing along.

Gothia Leaders Party Gothia Opening Ceremony are the events of the week that each year get the highest rating from the participants.

The Place

Scandinavium Arena is Gothenburg’s Hockey-temple, but for this evening it gets a make over and this arena is transformed into a gigantic entertainment facility. With capacity for approximately 3000 guests this event gets always fully attended.

The Show

The show is colorful, euforical and nonstop. Great performers together with some of Gothenburg’s greatest musicians perform to us music numbers from all times. The music laps with comedy, sing-along and crazy  dances from the audience. The entire time is the leaders and coaches that are the center of attention. Dance, sing and laugh together with you colleagues.

Food & Drinks

At your arrival to the venue there will be a large all you can eat buffé with a free drink included. The buffé is served between 19.00 and 21.00. The bar is open until 11 pm
