Älvsborgs Fortress
Älvsborgs Fortress is a very popular destination for day excursions. The boat will take you on a tour, not only through the inner harbour, but also the outer harbour out to the fortress. On the island you can visit the café that offers home bakery, sandwiches and a lighter lunch menu. The island is perfect for a stroll in the sun and a nice place for a picnic. Maritiman
The world’s largest floating ship museum. Restaurant, café and maritime gift shop. Maritiman now has 19 unique vessels, boats and barges that are all moored at Packhuskajen in central Göteborg. East Indiaman Göthenburg
Götheborg is the world’s largest sailing wooden ship and a copy of the East Indiaman that in 1745, on its way home from China ran aground and sank just outside Gothenburg harbor entrance. Today the ship is sailing again, and besides the historic voyage to China and back home again 2005-2007 made a handful of expeditions. The ship has visited over thirty cities around Europe and the summer of 2010 participated in celebration of the Crown princess Victoria’s wedding. On 27 June to 21 August you can visit the East Indiaman at Stenpiren in Gothenburg. The ship is open for boarding all day between 11:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs and the restaurant area on the pier is open from 11.00 hrs until late evening.
