Kim Källström Trophy
The Kim Källström Trophy offers young people with some form of intellectual disability the opportunity to participate in The World Youth Cup. The love of football is the common denominator for all of us. Kim Källström Trophy is a co-operation between Gothia Cup, Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia, Special Olympics Sweden and of course our main sponsor, the Swedish national player Kim Källström.
Kim Källström Trophy is a separate class in the Gothia Cup. Group stage and finals are played at Kviberg from Monday to Thursday with finals at Heden Thursday. During the five years the class has been played, 165 teams from 26 nations have participated.

Rules of competition
In Kim Källström Trophy teams that are members of the Special Olympic Program are welcome. The regulation applied is in accordance with the Special Olympics regulations.
The tournaments starts with divisioning (Monday) according to Special Olympics procedure. The divisioning is the basis for group divisions and playing schedule. The tournament starts off on Tuesday.

Who can participate
Youth with intellectual disabilities. Players must be born 2003 or earlier (This is a youth tournament and the recommended age is therefore 16-21 years).
Number of teams in the tournament
The Kim Källström Trophy can receive 15 Scandinavian teams and 15 international teams, i.e. a total of 30 teams out of which 22 teams with accommodation. Teams that first register and pay the entry fee will have priority.
According to the Special Olympics rules (see www.gothiacup.se and Special Olympics regulations). Grouping will be made by division play in order to secure an as fair play as possible. This is a class for males, but females are more than welcome to participate. The games will be played 7-a-side. A maximum of 10 players can be registered in each team. All players must have a valid identification document or passport to show at the control upon arrival to the school or at the registration for local team.
EURO 145 per person. The fee is compulsory for all participants and leaders. Lodging in school class rooms for four nights with full board (breakfast, lunch dinner) and Gothia Card are included.
Mattresses and bedding can be rented to a cost of 20 Euro per person.
All participants need to be ensured both on and off the field. Gothia Cup does not carry any group insurance protecting participants in case of injury, illness, theft or damage to property.

30 May: Last day to hand in the first division assessment and registration documents on players and leaders.

17 July: Division matches. Opening ceremony
18 July: Group stage. Gothia Leaders Party
19 July: Group stage. Players Evening.
20 July: Play off and finals. Departure day
EURO 100 per team. The fee is compulsory for all participating teams.
Registration and payment
The easiest way to register is on our Internet site www.gothiacup.se under Registration.
To secure a place in the tournament, register and pay the team fee as soon as possible. The registration date is calculated from the day we receive your team fee.
The accommodation costs must be paid no later than 10 May. Otherwise we can not guarantee your accommodation. Please pay all the accommodation costs at one time. Refund of accommodation cost is only made if you cancel before June 10. Subsequently we require medical certificate (please note that the medical certificate must be received by Gothia Cup at the latest June 10th, 2016). The team fee is not refundable.
