Tomorrow it’s time for the 37th opening ceremony of the Gothia Cup and everyone repeats until everything is set. Right know there’s dancers, artists and a lot of other people rehearsing for a spectacular show that draws an audience of over 50 000 people. Tournament leader Lena Rönnefors has worked with the opening ceremony for many years and she is excited about tomorrow. The rehearsals have gone well and the atmosphere is perfect. Not even the rain that pours down seems to be able to change that. - We don’t care about the rain, there’s nothing that can stop us, Lena says with a smile. The singer Mimmi Sandén is participating at the ceremony for the third time and this year she will also host the show, something she never has done before. -I’m a little nervous but mostly excited about tomorrow and the rehearsals are so much fun. It’s a show I don’t want to miss and the feeling I have standing on the stage is unbeatable. It’s a lot of fun to work here because everyone is so positive and happy and really excited about tomorrow. It’s certainly an amazing show, with approximately 300 dancers and about 50 people up on stage. But we should not forget the audiences, Lena says. -Without public involvement, we’re nothing. They’re truly amazing and they’re definitely a big part of the show. The opening ceremony will also have a secret guest visiting and according to Lena it is going to be an appreciated performance in the show. Tomorrow at 20.00 the opening ceremony of Gothia Cup 2011 will start and after seeing the rehearsals, I got a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a good night. Make sure you don’t miss it. /Alexandra Gelsi
